Can I get a One Time Aeration?
No. We don’t offer one time Aerations. We are a lawn beautification company who uses Aeration as part of a lawn development program.
How do you determine what services I need and how does pricing work?
With over 25 years of experience beautifying lawns we can quickly identify the best way to grow your lawn. We offer free onsite evaluations to meet with you and discuss our services and go over pricing. Lawns are priced based on size, difficulty, and condition. We have a full annual program to establish the lawn, develop the lawn, then maintain it going forward!
My lawn never seems to grow. What makes you different?
We have seen it all and know what conditions favor healthy grass and attack it from the bottom up. We build strong root systems which create strong healthy grass! We have our own annual turf program written by our CEO and Founder which means we do the right things, at the right times, using the right products to guarantee results.
How long does grass take to germinate and how long until I have the semblance of a lawn?
We use only the highest quality grass seed which takes slightly longer than that cheap mix you can buy at the store. On average it takes 9-14 days to START germinating. Seed will keep germinating up to 90 days after seeding.You can expect the results of what we’ve done after 90 days. Most lawns look pretty good at 90 days give or take depending on the exact time of year done, current weather conditions, and condition of the lawn prior. Pretty good is not good enough around here! We really need 12 months to build the lawn completely. Patience greatly appreciated!
Isn’t having a green lawn a waste of limited resources?
Actually having a thick healthy green lawn is good for the Environment! A healthy lawn actually traps moisture and uses less water than an improperly mowed non-aerated lawn. Our lawns through aeration become softer and accept rain and irrigation easier therefore requiring less frequent watering. A healthy lawn gives off oxygen and cools the immediate area around your home!
How often should core aeration be performed on my lawn?
Core aeration should be performed at least every 6 months. As part of our program you will receive 2 Aerations a year. Most Aerations include seeding as well depending on the time of year and the grass.
How often should my lawn be fertilized?
Regular Fertilizer service is crucial to feed the lawn and keep it consistently green and healthy! Our program includes the right fertilizer, at the right rate, and the right times. We use only the highest quality granular slow release fertilizer. This means it sits there until it gets watered in and breaks down over time feeding your lawn as you water it.
I don’t know anything about growing lawns, how’s this going to work?
Don’t Worry! It’s not our first rodeo but we’ll make sure to explain everything in clear detail because we realize it may be your first one. From our first contact with you we’ll set an appointment for a Free Consultation. We’ll be on time and start explaining lawn care in more detail. After we do the initial aeration and seeding we’ll explain to you how to water. We’ll come back 14, 21. and 30 days later to check on the lawns and progress and teach you more about grass and how to care for it. By 60 days you’ll be a pro!
I see Artificial Grass advertised everywhere? What’s better? Real Grass or Fake Stuff?
Real turfgrass is always better. It’s safer and softer for kids and pets! Artificial grass is installed over crushed stone and heats up around your house while real grass cools around your house. Artificial grass can become unsanitary for pets, while a good healthy lawn will filter pet waste much better. Artificial grass offers zero benefit to the environment while real grass gives off oxygen. Artificial grass can be cost prohibitive while a real grass lawn can be built for a few hundred dollars using high quality seed. Artificial turf fades after a few years in the sun and can actually grow weeds leaving an unsightly mess. Real Lawns use about $50 in water to maintain after establishment.
I have Kids and Dogs. How does this work? Is it safe?
We grow lawns from high quality grass seed and fertilizer only!. We do not use any chemicals on your lawn. Through regular seeding and feeding along with proper watering and mowing techniques we try and build as natural a lawn as we can. Hand pulling of certain weeds may be advised. Kids and Pets can go on the lawn after service has been watered in. For best results after grass seed germination and grass is tiny it is advised to keep dogs off new seed to aid in establishment.
What’s the best time of year to get started?
As with the gym, the best time to start is always RIGHT NOW! In San Diego with our mild year round temperatures we can pretty much start the lawn growing and beautifying process at anytime of the year.
